Rob, what do you think about having some sub headings now on the forum seeing as there now seems to be alot more interest in the forum and different topics going on, will be easier for ppl to navigate i think.
Such as: Server stuff, dmc stuff, dmq stuff, off topic etc............just a thought m8.

Anybody else have a view on this ?

Was wondering if you would consider adding the DMQ map versions of e1m2 and dm3 to the rune server rotation to complete the set of dmq textured maps, would be nice i think,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and a poll of 33 ppl out of 50 complete strangers i met in the street also agree big_smile

Also i have noticed that alot of players drop when dowmloading the new maps because of the dl time, it took me 10 mins per map to dl, but this puts alot of ppl off, so they just give up, can we put a link here to dl the new textured maps and also something on the server splash screen to direct ppl to a dl site ?

Great work on this guys, shards def add a new dimension to gameplay, picking up on what carbon said about wether or no to be able to pick up shards after your at max 250, personaly i think not, at least if your maxed at 250 your opponent at least has shards to work with even if you keep him away from RA YA, buts thats just my opponion and as the saying goes "oppinions are like arseholes, we all have one" wink

Yeah like the idea of the armour shards and also the timer countdown in duel, on the dmq over dmc argument, i think it's time to move on and if we want to see this game get anywhere dmq is the only way to go, i have stopped the BaF 101 dmc server and i'm converting it to dmq also.

Rob i'm now hosting with www.uk-game.com who run windows based servers for hldm at reasonable rates so maybe check it out.

One other thing on dmq, it would be nice to get spec to default to first person mode in duel, just one of those small niggles.

what would also be nice imho is to give some of the more humble weapons a bit more oomph as the only time someone other than a noob uses the shotgun it's to open a door wink this would also attract more ppl who just see dmc dmq as a two weapon game RL LG and get bored very quickly.

Hi guys

Just letting you all know, i'm going to change the -=[BaF]Room101=- server over to run DMQ2 FFA as apposed to DMC as this seems the best mod really worth playing, and the mod most good players want to play.

I have spent alot of time thinking about the server rotation and have come up with this little lot, if anyone has any other ideas or does'nt like a particular map and want something else please let me know, i will also upload as many maps as poss on the server so you can play anything you want with rcon commands, or admin mod.

There may be some down time while i get my shit sorted as work is a bit hectic at the mo so please bear with me.

Yes m8, everything is cool, going to upload some more maps soon, and admin mod so players can vote for maps and modes etc, so may need some help configuring that wink but i will have a go myself first.

I noticed that in the the different modes  mapcycles there are some maps with the prefix such as dmq_dmz1 instead of dmc_dmz1 although i dont seem to have these versions in my map folder, do you have to download these seperately ?

Found a post which relates to steam_appid.txt not being updated with the right app number, it should be 40 for DMC this has worked for some ppl with this problem, but i checked mine and it was already 40, so no joy for me, but worth a look guys.

Will be nice to have the new website running with portal to all servers then we wont have to rely on steam server browser smile

Hi all

Is anyone else having this issue, servers not showimg in main server window, but showing in favourites ? it would appear that this has started happening to ppl since the last steam client update, after doing some  reaserch on the steam forums there still does'nt seem to be a fix that has worked for everybody, and there has been no word from steam support as yet, it's weird sometimes the servers are there and sometimes not,,,,,,,,,,I would like to know how many of you guys have this same problem, if any ?

Just to let everybody know i have a DMQ2 BaF server online as well as the DMC server, both are running ffa and the same maps at present but i may shuffle these around a bit in the next few days, so if you have any suggestions please let me know, the server details are as follows:


There seems to be an issue at present with steam where the servers are not always showing in the server window, the best thing to do is add the servers to your favourites as it would appear they are always there if the servers are running, you can add them via the below listed ip addresses.

Looking at running DMQ2 on a remote server, but unsure how to get it to work, do i just upload the DMQ2 files from the Geeky.cc website [the zip file] then unzip it on the remote server in the [DMC] folder,, also do i need the admin mod plugin installed if i only want the server as a ffa server any help on this would be appreciated

any luck with the DMQ linux issue ?, i have'nt managed to speak to pix yet, but i did some research and i think it may be possible but only in ffa format, but my search for the answer will continue.

On the simon topic, i have'nt seen him around for years but i will ask about to see if someone can get in touch with him though, your right dmc-central was such a rich source of information it would be a shame to lose it all.

Shame about the linux / e-frag DMQ problem because i wanted to start a DMQ server for ffa, maybe speak to pix to see if there is any chance he has created one maybe ?......i will ask when i see him next, if not what about hosting from a windows based server, is there anyone out there with a similar price structure in the uk ?

Hi to all

Just to let everybody know that there is a new -=[BaF]=- server online running DMC ffa, this is the first -=[BaF]=- clan server up and running since the demise of dmc-central run by Zapper, who did a great job running and managing the site and the servers,,,,,,cheers Simon smile

Please let me know if you have any problems on the server or you have any suggestions.

Hopefully if all goes well i will try to put up a DMQ server also as i think this would be great fun big_smile.

p.s.........a note to you Rob, being new to this server stuff i could do with your help on sorting out the "admin" commands etc, as the site is hosted by e-frag, many thx buddy.
