Yeah the dik is really annoying sad

I have managed to get my bug/feature list for DMQ:S to fit on one page over the last week.  Got a bit carried away with real life over the last couple of months but Carbs and CA have got some great work done.

We will keep chipping away and might have something playable this year :-)

Hey, I think you need to update your DMC:S site so that under "Countdown to Release", it says "Fail" ;-)

ps DMQ:S FTW :-)

#4 Re: Deathmatch Classic » DMQ : Source » 2011-05-31 23:09:45

Real life is a PITA sometimes.  We are still getting bits done and don't worry, as I type this there are only a few minutes left until DMC Source is released ;-)

#5 Re: Deathmatch Classic » DMC:TC » 2011-03-22 22:49:53

LOL, silly me, how could I forget such an important thing!

We are making some real progress now - I posted an update: http://www.dmqsource.com/blogs.aspx

Dirky is still MIA - I hope he is OK.

First of all the menu, it is silly. We're waiting on a PROPER replacement and one of our artists made that as a joke. The music is also there as a joke.

Then why did you realease it - there have been a few posts regarding trolling - it's just a bad first impression.

Triggs wrote:

All of your concerns over gravity and bunny hopping and other physics are going to be fixed.

Does your team really have the ability to do this?  The replies I got in your forum would suggest not.

Triggs wrote:

The little parts that you're nit picking about with our maps, yeah I don't know what's going on there. I'll be sure to beat the child in my basement who makes them.

If you had a fuller understanding of the game, you would realise that it is not nit picking.  Including things like red armour is quite important ;-)

I also hope that we and mfrx can come to some sort of agreement to work together.

You and Jethrosoup (I had a chat with him yesterday on steam) seem like nice enough people but the rest of your team seem like a bunch of 12 year olds that have no idea about the software development process.
Unfortunatly, you have stated that you have no time for modding and Jethro only codes (like me) so there is no much that you could help with.  If I am wrong, please correct me.

Get your arse on steam - I'll let you give me a beating cool

#12 Re: Deathmatch Classic » DMC : Source BETA is open » 2011-02-22 11:22:40

It is good motivation for us ;-)

I like some of the things they have done - like rounding the internal edges on that last shot.  I don't like the missing RA on DM6 & DM2 secret LOL.  Maybe that is for a "more balanced map" haha.

They obviously have no idea how important the small details are.  The list is pretty much never ending as they have not used the original map sources.  They must be uber 1337 super mutant players to know that these changes will improve the game - I wish I was that good ;-)

#13 Re: Deathmatch Classic » Steam Connection Problem » 2011-02-21 17:48:23

Running out of ideas now sad

I am hoping that when you reinstalled DMC, you did not copy over any old configs.

The only other thing I can think of is windows firewall - but normally that just works after adding the first exception.  You could try turning it off (but only to test).

#14 Re: Deathmatch Classic » Clans Of Deathmatch Classic » 2011-02-15 00:05:40

Welcome back mate - I have some rockets waiting for you ;-)

#15 Re: Off topic » Super Bowl XLV » 2011-02-11 11:31:41

Mate, you would need to be off your trolley to think about touching any of them ;-)

#16 Re: Deathmatch Classic » DMQ : Source » 2011-02-10 23:35:26

Heheh, well it has been two weeks so we have finished tongue

Nah, we are getting there tho - Carbs has been working hard on dcdm5, I have been working hardish on the code.  Dirky seems to have disappeared sad  Real life always getting in the way but we will just keep chipping away at it :-)

We have been, and will continue to update www.dmqsource.com

#17 Re: Deathmatch Classic » Steam Connection Problem » 2011-02-09 15:32:03

Yeah, krapersky sux for games.   I don't know of any good ones though - I use a hardware firewall.

If it is possible, you could tell it to ignore all game traffic.  Look for options to disable network scanning / disable UDP traffic protection / ignore traffic on ports or something like that.

#18 Re: Deathmatch Classic » Steam Connection Problem » 2011-02-09 11:48:17

Do you mean all servers, or just server where you have a high ping?

If it is all servers - have you tried disabling / turning off all other programs?

If it is just high ping servers and you have been messing with your client options (rate and stuff) then try reseting to default.

#19 Re: Off topic » Super Bowl XLV » 2011-02-07 10:22:11

I actually watched some of it.  First time I have watched live AF.  How on earth do they make it last so long?  I think it is the American equivalent of Australian cricket - lets make it last as long as possible so we have time for at least 2 BBQs and a crate of beer ;-)

#20 Re: Deathmatch Classic » DMQ : Source » 2011-02-05 14:21:48

DeaCon, we are going to need shit loads of model eventually - currently the mod depends on HL2 and HL2DM which will potentially exclude lots of players.  If it something that does interest you, practice, play and hopefully you can do something in future :-)

#22 Re: Deathmatch Classic » East Coast DMQ » 2011-02-05 01:09:18

OG_Fireball - can you check that you have "sv_allowdownload 1" on the server?

#23 Re: Deathmatch Classic » Hookmod quad servers » 2011-02-01 12:16:46

OMG, these people need shooting!  I have been pondering how to prevent people from doing this sort of thing in DMQ:Source - imagine if that was your first experience of the game!

#24 Re: Deathmatch Classic » Hello » 2011-02-01 12:14:35

Personally, I don't hang around on servers anymore, but I am normally on steam so that I can stalk people when they join ;-)

#25 Re: Off topic » BeerQuest » 2011-02-01 00:52:10

I used to like mead when I was drinking - but its far too easy to drink far too much.  Bit like cider - brains tells you its just fizzy apple juice ;-)

Bit worried about Rob's Grapefruit addiction though!
